Our Component Crafting building process serves two, non mainstream, segments of the housing market particularly well. The unique demands of building homes on infill home sites and for non occupant investors present a challenge not found in mass residential construction. Our process is simply perfect for both.

Infill Home Sites:
As urban housing markets mature and expand geographically, commuting times and urban sprawl expand exponentially. Older, close in homes and home sites increase in value to the point where it becomes financially feasible to demolish the older structure and build a new one in its place. While this may sound like a simple solution, it is highly complex. A new infill home will generally have to be larger and more sophisticated than the one it replaces. Because of intricate local zoning and site plan requirements, this becomes a real challenge. In addition, it is preferable for the new home's appearance to "fit into the neighborhood" another difficult challenge.

The infill challenge generally starts with the hiring of an architect to create a set of unique house plans for the site. While many architects appreciate the details of real world house construction, in our experience, most are out of touch. The unique plan is created and approved, usually without any input or review by a builder. As a result, the approved plans go out to bid to various general contractors with little flexibility in how to create the final product. It is a "one of a kind" house in every sense, and the final price reflects the risk taken by the general contractor to build an unknown. This need not be the case.

We eliminate the architect, the "one of a kind" housing solution and the drawn out and expensive custom home process. We are able to do this by simply assembling groups of our tested and tried components into a house plan which meets local zoning and site plan requirements. This is the strength of our Component Crafting process. We can't reproduce a Frank Lloyd Wright creation, but we are pretty darn good at building homes that "fit into"any Washington, D.C. market area.

Investor Homes:
Another segment of the housing market well served by our Component Crafting process is homes built by investors for resale or rental. The investor's focus is on minimizing financial risk and maximizing return. These are our strengths. Our production speed is second to none, with a goal of delivering the house within 90 days of the foundation and site work completion. Because we eliminate the one-of-a-kind architect solution, we never have a conflict like the stairs not quite being to plan (and who pays for that mess). We can plan and produce a home from proven, reliable components that will fit comfortably in any neighborhood. That home can be finished for either resale or rental use without missing a step. Our business is building rock solid homes; if your are in real estate investment, we have a match.
